What’s the cheapest natively supported GPU for macOS Mojave and Catalina Hackintosh or Apple Mac?
I showed you in my videos already how great can work in macOS Mojave and macOS Catalina Hackintosh GPUs like AMD Radeon VII, Radeon 5700 XT, Vega Frontier Edition, RX 580, RX 480, RX 560. But what if you want just some cheapest, but natively supported GPU for macOS? I’ve got a tip for you.
Of course this card is not any beast. The Kepler architecture this card is based on was introduced in 2012, so it’s already 7 years old. But for the purpose I mentioned earlier it’s perfectly fine. And as you can see it does not have problem to handle even 4K videos on it. So perfect GPU for your Hackintosh or Mac when you don’t need any super powerful and also expensive GPU. It works out of the box, you don’t need to do any fancy tricks to make it working!

BTW why I chose exactly this exact one and not any other one? There are more reasons, first – it’s passively cooled GPU, so it does not make any noise – great for audio production. Second – it’s just PCIe x8 = so it will not eat much PCIe lanes. If you will put it into the last PCIe slot connected through chipset, you can use the first x16 slot to connect your high speed audio device at full speed! And third – this card is perfect for AMD based virtualization servers, where I also use it. You will see it in action in one of my next videos.
